"What can you do with that degree?" Is one of the most common (and sometimes irritating) questions that virtually all liberal arts college students get asked during their undergraduate career. Sometimes this is asked by family members concerned for your future job prospects. Other times, however, it is asked by smug friends or acquaintances that are in the sciences or in business related disciplines. To them, their career path may seem a lot more obvious: You study engineering to become an engineer; you study accounting to become an accountant, etc.

If you choose to get an online liberal studies degree such as a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science, which may be in a field such as English, comparative literature, political science or astronomy, you will need to complete two years of general education courses first. This will include basic math, English, economics, history and humanities courses, as well as a couple of electives, which every typical college student has to take.

A degree in liberal arts holds a broad assortment of humanities courses that supply a well-rounded foundation and preview into arts, literature, and cultural phenomena all through the world from history to present days. If you haven't chosen a career training path, studying the humanities can provide an appreciation and great services for society. Studying the humanities can also bring in new career options for you to choose from.

Students gain insights into human conditions through the study of languages, literature, religions, and cultures. They learn to develop critical thinking and communication skills in preparation for qualifying for occupations involved with administration, finance and banking institutions, life sciences, technology, marketing and sales, business, education, manufacturing, and arts environments.

If you like to Build models; Draw plans of your building ideas; Research and write papers; learn Mathematic; learn about preserving and restoring old buildings; Study architectural styles and history; Think about how buildings affect individuals and society then you would have a bright future in this field of Creativity.

If you are absolutely captivated by buildings; If you do enjoy being creative; if you can handle (handle learn from) public criticism; if you are self-motivated and well organized; If you like to meet up new challenges, then you must consider a degree in Architecture.

The first thing a high school student should do is make an appointment with the colleges of his or her choice. Many on campus and online colleges have private funding for various fields of study. In fact, the smart student should not only talk to a financial aid adviser, but also someone inside the department that will be highly reputable. The dean of that school might know of a program the aid adviser doesn't.

The next step is to do your own research. Just calling up a good search engine will yield thousands of different financial aid packages. Further, they are usually administered by private institutions ranging from public corporations to professional societies to trust funds left by former patrons of the arts.
